Save your time and money

Author collected a bunch of quotes that most people would have already known about and published them in a book. Pretty much all quotes came from people on stocktwits. He did a good job linking quotes to the original authors but I can see no reason for having this book. Save your money and go to the site yourself if you want to read and follow a hundred different people.

A top book by real risk takers ,read and learn

I must congratulate Brian for his excellent job.
I wrote to him some time ago that he must publish it as a book and sell it in Amazon.
As one of Amazon top clients (as I am a lover of trading related books from TA to psychology) and a PhD in losses (my risk capital) before becoming a successful macro risk taker for a family office for the past 5 years, his creation is one of the top 10 books that I ever read.
It is so rare to see real risk takers talk about trading vs the sales industry trying to sell something to risk takers...
It is there with Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, Market Wizards and P.Brandt's Diary of a Professional Commodity Trader .
The reader will be lucky to find and read this book at his start of his trading life.Otherwise he will pay a lot of money to learn the vital lesson of this great book.

If This Book Cost $20,000, It Would Still Be Worth The Money.

When I visited Richard Koch at this home in Portugal, I told him he should take this book off the market, buy up all the used copies and re-package it for $20,000. Why? Because it explains the essence of the strategy that grew his wealth from $2 million to $200 million in less than 20 years.

Essentially, this book says “Why do I bat 50% when most Venture Capitalists bat 5%? The secret is the Star Principle.” Only bet on #1 players, and only play in markets that are growing at 10% per year or more. Disqualify everything else. And if you’re not the #1 player, redefine the market so you ARE the #1 player.

Now of course Richard goes into much greater detail than that, but that’s the gist of it. I realized when I read it, that all the major home runs I've hit in my career did in fact follow that formula. I’d just never articulated it as well or as clearly as Richard had.

As a marketer, this has added a tremendous context and focus to my approach to Unique Selling Proposition, or USP. I think we do a very good job with USP but this added another level of specificity. What space should you choose to be unique in? Is that space growing? How is it defined? What language has the market chosen to describe it and how should you alter that language? How can you adjust your USP by 10% to fit Richard’s formula, so you have a First Mover Advantage wherever you go?

This is to say, you don’t have to necessarily be an equity investor or even “have money” to benefit from this. This book is about ANY business situation where you decide where to drive your stake in the ground. It’s just as applicable to a bootstrap entrepreneur as it is to an investor with a few million dollars in his pocket.

You might read this book and conclude you're in the wrong industry, niche or profession. Better to figure that out now, not later.

I was kicking myself for not having read this book five years ago - a friend of mine had sent it to me quite some time ago. But now that I have it under my belt, it has transformed my understanding of where to focus my finite energy. Some of us marketers are so good we can move ourselves or a client from #5 to #1. Yes, it can be done. But the odds are against you. There are easier ways.

What happens if you take the same amount of energy and you focus it on transforming a “#1 by small margin” to “#1 by HUGE margin”? That’s where fortunes are made.

I love the elegance and simplicity. I also appreciate the fact that Richard is willing to even write books like this in the first place. Most players at his level are not in the book writing business and it might arguably be in their interest to keep that wisdom to themselves. Thanks Richard for a truly and genuinely game-changing book.

Be a fly on the wall of a phenomenally successful business consultant.

What if you could be a fly on the wall of a successful business consultant who had consistently out-batted other consultants. What is it about how they think that meant that they could *know* with a strong sense of confidence whether a project would work or not? That is what this book gives you.

This book is simple enough for anyone to understand, but has all the elements required to make it useful for the serious student looking to make their venture successful.

It is put together like a template to help you first learn how to spot star ventures and then know which of your alternatives are most likely to work. If you realise your plan is shaky, it helps you detect if you can tweak your plan to make it more likely to succeed.

The chapters are thoughtfully ordered in the steps you go through to compile your strategy, and peppered with real life examples to help round out your understanding.

Another thing I like about this approach, is the fact that it does not just apply to big scale investing in companies (where the author made his money), but also can be applied in many other areas of your life beyond investing (i.e. it is Fractal): Are you looking to start your own company? - Are you developing new products or services for an existing operation? Are you looking for a department or company to work for? In all cases this book can help you. For example, Richard underlines many benefits of just finding and working in a Star company that had not occurred to me.

My only criticism is the choice of title; With so many get rich quick fads/products, the use of the phrase "How it Can Make You Rich" in the title may put some people off. It may lead you mistakenly to believe that you need some kind of special skills to make the information inside work. It does not, but it does require you to look at situations differently.

This book is almost certainly going to become required reading on business school reading lists, as it gives you the 20% of strategy you need to know without filling your head with a bunch of other needless analysis tools.

I do not understand why more people are not raving about it already.

P.S. when reading the kindle version on a laptop computer (using http://read.amazon.com), some of the bulleted lists the text is a bit small, however this is a small formatting issue which may have been corrected by the time you read this. The same issue is *not* present when using a kindle on a tablet or phone.

Life changing

I've read dozens and dozens of business book and have a masters degree in management. This is by far the best business book I've read.

If I were to list the top 5 books, the other 4 would be
2nd 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey.
3rd equal Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins and Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy
5th Billionaire in Training by Brad Sugars

This book led me to a stock that grew 15x in less than two and a half years.

Are you tired of the grind and believing that the way to double your results is to double your working hours? In this book Richard Koch teaches a different path, an easier but much more fruitful path. For the self employed after reading the Star Principle I also strongly recommend reading 80/20 Sales and Marketing: The definitive guide to working less and making more by Perry Marshall.

I see some reviewers try to list the Star Principle by outlying two key points from the book. If you think knowing those two points negates the need to read this book then you will be shortchanging yourself, your spouse and your children. Books by Loretta Chase are worth waiting for!

I've enjoyed Loretta Chase since she used to write Regencies for Walker Publishing. Her research is first-rate and her characters full-blown and believable. The sexual tension she generates between her protagonists is always exciting and rewarding, too. Grenville and Mallory are made for each other, of course. Lydia Grenville was born to heal Mallory, the Duke of Ainswood's, tortured soul. They both lost children they adored---Lydia her little sister, Mallory his young nephew, and the losses bring them together. But, first, sparks fly as the two challenge and bring out the best (or is it the worst?) in each other and titillate the ton (English high society) with their very public antics and capers. There's a great dog in the story, too, great in size and great in personality. Loretta Chase is not one of those romance writers who comes out with a book every few months, but when she does come out with one, it is "cherce" (to quote Spencer Tracy describing Katherine Hepburn in one of their films). Chase's novels are "cherce" and worth the waiting. Unforgettable, too.

Excellent story...I was completely hooked

Dickens would be proud of this captivating story with its twists and turns and family secrets, and a hero and heroine who must come to terms with their troubled pasts before they can be truly happy. Lydia Grenville, raised in poverty, lost her mother and sister as a child and was then abandoned by her wastrel father. She is now a crusading journalist for a popular London publication, and doesn't think very highly of men. Vere Mallory, Duke of Ainswood has his own turbulent history. His parents died when he was nine, and he is the last of his direct line, whose male heirs have all succumbed to untimely deaths. Since the death eighteen months ago of the previous Duke, his boy cousin, Vere has essentially been in a state of depression and denial. He has led a life of dissipation, shirking his responsibilities to his title and to his young female cousins who are his wards. He does not think very highly of women.

The meeting of the two opposing forces of Vere and Lydia is a wonder to behold. At times highly humorous, at times deeply moving, the dialogue is always engaging in the way the inimitable Ms. Chase does so well. Vere's oft-muttered epithets for Lydia are hilarious, and yet there are also times of amazing tenderness. This book has a fine cast of supporting characters, particularly the continuing character of Bertie Trent, who finally gets to prove his worth. The Last Hellion is a very satisfying romance and is highly recommended.

While not suffering from diabetes myself, I can highly recommend Robin's delicious recipes, some of which I have had the pleasure of sampling at his table in France. The recipes have all the richness of classical Mediterranean cooking. Enjoy yourselves ... with this mouth-watering cornucopia.

About the Author
Robin Ellis is best known for his role as Captain Ross Poldark in the original BBC classic series. He then returned to play a cameo in the recent smash hit adaptation of Poldark. Apart from his career as an actor Robin has always been a passionate cook. He learned to cook from his mother, who suffered from Type 1 diabetes. Following a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes himself in 1999 he researched the best way of eating for his condition. He settled on a low-carb Mediterranean diet and, together with daily walks, he has managed to control his condition successfully ever since.

I recently gifted myself this wonderful cookbook by Robin Ellis. The recipes are good clean cooking that are not overblown or take too much time. The food is great for diabetics and non-diabetics alike. The ingredients are easy to find in your grocery store and in fact many of the recipes lend themselves to be doubled if you are having dinner guest. The photographs, taken by Meredith Wheeler, throughout the book show off the lovely country side of France. Great book for you or as a gift. I was so happy to finally receive my copy of Mediterranean Cooking for Diabetics.....I have made some of Robin's recipes from a previous book and they do not disappoint. Neither does this book. The recipes are straight-forward, simple and easy to prepare and certainly creative. His wife, Meredith, took the photos and they are stunning. It looks as if all those beautiful vegetables are going to jump right onto my plate! Being a quasi-vegetarian there are certainly an abundance of recipes for me to enjoy. I'm not a diabetic but I would encourage anyone who wants to begin or continue eating healthy to add this cookbook to your kitchen library.

About the Author
Fascinated and perpetually inspired by religion, Chaim Clorfene learned at both the Telshe Yeshiva in Los Angeles and the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Crown Heights, a process that transformed him from a sought-after marketing expert to rabbi and author. Informative and Easy to Understand

I bought the book as a Kindle ebook and LOVE it. Using the Kindle makes checking out the footnotes easy; you just click on the number for the link, read the note or look at the image, then click on the number of the link and go right back to the text.
The Hebrew text of the passages of Ezekiel are easy to read (if you can read Hebrew; the book includes the dots and lines for vowel sounds), but the English translation follows the Hebrew text, and comments from the author or the sage(s) the author consulted follow that.
The pictures that accompany the text are beautiful and in color. I can imagine black and white pictures would be quite a bit harder to understand.
I am considering buying a hardback copy for my shelf.

This book gives the most complet and in depth view and teaching on the third temple... Very nicely done from a Jewish perpective. My wife and I keep going back to the book we are really enjoying the High grade Digital photos and computer graphics... This is the best book on the third temple I have seen to date...
