In another moment Jason was in a tent of a t-shirt and sitting in bluejeans that enveloped his waist loosely, like a sleeping bag, that draped over the chair. Broderick casually retrieved his watch from the small child's lap as Jason looked up in astonishment to ask, "What you do?" Jason could not believe the sound of his own voice, a piping little-boy mewl.

Broderick sat down, smiling affectionately at his baby babysitter. "That's what this watch does, Jas'n. It can make somebody grow older or younger. And it just made you really little." He put the watch back into his pocket, and folded his arms on the table as he spoke.

"Bu' why me?" Jason asked, becoming more and more frantic. "Howcome? I wan' be big!"

Broderick clucked his tongue paternally. "Aw, don't be mad, Jason. I didn't do it to be mean, I just don't wanna be babysat anymore. So I get to babysit you now. I hope you know what this means. You better be good." He raised one eyebrow as he said this, with a look that asked Jason if he was about to challenge this young man's newfound authority.

Little Jason's eyes widened. Less than an hour after he'd walked in the door the situation had gone completely out of his control. One moment he was dutifully carrying out his responsibilities to look after the boys and the next he was nothing more than a child, a toddler at best, and it looked as though he would be spending the rest of the night completely under Broderick's control. His lower lip started to tremble as the magnitude of his situation started to dawn on him. "Wh- what.. what you gonna do wiss me?" he asked fearfully.

super cute story

I liked this. A fantasy story in which a 19 year old boy is forced to trade places with the youngster he's babysitting. Very innocent type of story, no sexual innuendos. Just innocent, loving, babying of a 19 year old boy in a 2 year old's body.

It wasn't entirely exciting, or amazing in any other way. If I had two words to describe it: Cute and Pleasant. It was a nice story.

It is like having a pharmacy consult sitting next to you

This book now slightly outdated, has two very valuable features. First it is very thorough. Practically every drug and its therapeutic application is discussed. Second the discussion is not just a factual presentation in the PDR sense but an attempted detailed clinical evaluation. Specific patient scenerio's are portrayed with various choices, considerations and outcomes. The patient Rx question is reviewed as if the particular patient is before you and you are on the phone with the pharmacy consult. I find it very useful to gain a picture of a careful, slow and detailed evaluation of proper patient Rx practices. This is not written as a quick reference guide, it is a course in itself on clinical Rx methods and approaches. It is a wonderful book to add to your library. I have no doubt that it's approach will provide better patient care. What it needs is an on-line update feature.

Applied Therapeutics is a very detailed, thorough, and informative compilation of assorted health care matters.

The text is easy to read and the numerous sample cases studies in each chapter ensures that the reader fully understands and is able to apply the information presented. It is also an excellent method to reinforce the enormous amount of information health care providers are presented with in daily practice.

The free CD-ROM (which you must request on their website with a coupon code attached in the back of the book) is a very portable version of this hefty textbook.

A word of caution: This is defintely not an "introductory" book. A little working knowledge of biology, pharmacology, and disease states is a must.

Overall, awesome textbook for interning students.

Applied "In-Patient" Therapeutics

This is a wonderful book for clinicians, despite its emphasis on medications and treatments used mainly in an "in-patient" setting. Its references are numerous and credited and presents its integrated information on a plethora of categories in pathological diseases in the forms of vignettes. I LOVE this book! The topics discussed are never overbearing in content, but gives just enough depth within each topic addressed to give the reader a firm hold of an effective visual on the subject matter (i.e. parkinson's disease, HIV pateints and geriatrics). Being a future clnician myself, I highly recommend this book for all present and future practitioners.

A Must-Have for Thomas and John Studies

This book is an important contribution to Thomasine and Johannine studies, and should be read by those on both sides of the aisle. It begins with a very fine historical overview of the literature on the John-Thomas question, including summaries of the views of Riley, Pagels, and DeConick. This is followed by a chapter on methodology, and then the heart of the book, which is a nuanced examination of the interactions between Jesus and most of the other characters in the Gospel of John. This latter portion of the book is divided into four chapters, examining in turn the interactions between Jesus and (1) Thomas, (2) Peter, (3) other disciples, and (4) "others" (viz., Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, and the sisters Martha and Mary). Skinner is intimately familiar with many major exegetical works on GJn, and it shows, as he weaves his interpretations with an eye to the question of how the treatment of the Thomas character compares to the treatment of other characters. Although in the end he concludes that Thomas is treated no differently, and that that conclusion undermines the theories of Riley et al, Skinner also expresses an understanding of the intuitive force behind those theories, which rest not only on certain interpretations of GJn (which Skinner argues are inadequate), but also on some historical considerations which are beyond the scope of this book. Overall, a learned and detailed examination of how the Johannine author used his characters, against which any analysis of the character of Thomas alone must be measured.

Narrative-critical blow to the Community Conflict Hypothesis

Skinner's dissertation offers a serious critique of the community-conflict hypothesis (i.e., the idea that John's gospel was written against the backdrop of an intramural conflict between inferred "Johannine" and "Thomasine" communities) by examining the ways in which the author of the Fourth Gospel portrays minor characters.

Contrary to the common reading of John as anti-Thomas, Skinner demonstrates that most minor characters in John are portrayed in mixed light, Thomas not least among them, and that other characters such as Peter come off much worse than Thomas does.

This student of Frank Moloney's (Catholic University of America) has produced a clear and compelling argument, presented with grace and vigor, that seriously undermines the presuppositions undergirding the approaches taken by scholars like Elaine Pagels who portray the Fourth Gospel as anti-Thomas propaganda.
